Experience

Agency: After a year of service through AmeriCorps and a memorable stint with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, I earned a master’s of communication management from the University of Southern California in marketing and I was off to the marketing world! I spent about eight years in various account management roles at marketing, advertising and public relations agencies. Developing campaigns for brands including Nestle, Samsung, Bulleit Whiskey, Magnolia and Sun-Maid was exciting, fast-paced work. As an Account Director, I managed teams that managed email, direct mail, experiential, digital campaigns for household brands. I LOVED it.

Corporate: With a hefty knapsack of experiences and tools, I left the agency world to work on the corporate side. I currently work for a Fortune 150 Brand, managing a team responsible for the Hispanic outreach strategy, inclusive marketing strategy, loyalty marketing, and marketing strategy for new products. I’m so proud of the work we’re doing to educate customers of all backgrounds about innovative, forward-thinking products like home electric vehicle charging solutions.

D&I: Telling good, inclusive stories comes from experience across cultures, and I’ve committed to seeking those out in both my personal and professional life. Since graduating from Howard University, commonly known as “The Mecca” for its robust international population of students, I proactively sought opportunities to drive inclusion and equity. I volunteered in leadership roles for Employee Resource Groups, I earned a certification in intercultural development, and I currently support the Diversity & Inclusion office on our internal marketing efforts.

As a freelancer, I provide counsel and coaching to senior/executive leaders in the non-profit, corporate and education space through my contract with The Winters Group, a groundbreaking leader in inclusion and equity work.
